Brady was baptised Sunday! Brady was a beast during church and he didn't like the idea of Pastor Don splashing water on his head. All of our friends and family came over for lunch at our house. It was a good day. Sunday night around 7:00 Brady was really fussy. He was running a fever of about 100.5. Becky checked his PICC line site and there was some pussy stuff around it that wasn't there earlier in the day. So she called Children's Hospital and they said we should go to Bellin ER. Bellin contacted C.H. after their findings and then we were told that we had to go down there right now. So we drove to Milwaukee Sunday night and Brady was admitted. He was put on an antibiotic IV and was closely monitored through the night. Blood cultures and cultures from the PICC site were taken. They said the results would take 48 hours to come back and recommended we stay till they do. Monday afternoon Brady's Oncologist Dr. Kelly said that we could go home if we wanted saying that he sees this all of the time where a pussiness forms around the PICC line but rarely infects the blood, so he said we could go home. Tuesday morning at 2 a.m. we got called with positive blood results of a bacterial infection so we had to drive back to the C.H. He was put back on an IV. Doctors concluded that the only way to treat the skin infection and the blood infection would be to remove the line. So they did. He recieved his Chemo treatment on Monday so it didn't matter if they took it out. When we go back next Tuesday they will put a line in his other arm and continue treatments as scheduled. In the meantime he will be on a stronger dose of antibiotics than he previously was to remove the blood infection.
